There Is Nothing Trashy About Tattooed Women

  1. This post and it's emptiness makes me sigh. It's title makes me sigh as well since a couple of the poses here the women are suggesting their sexual availability.

There's nothing like an empty blog post full of pictures making a statement that is a matter of opinion.
The least you could of done was had the decency to explain your opinion and the images and the reasons each woman was tattooed. Especially since you included a Japanese Ainu tribal woman and a few others in with random western women who have not been tattooed for the same reason. Most western women tattoo their bodies for aesthetic and personal reasons. They especially do not do it for religious, or cultural reasons.

    1. Respected Blue Kraken,

Your name is as depressingly wet as you are. Your grammar makes me sigh, as does your syntactic ambiguity, which owing to your evident lack of perspicacity I doubt was intentionally meant.

The least I could have done was exactly what I did; that was the whole point. The title says exactly what I wanted to say and the images were a very literal way of illustrating the point. Giving lengthy explanations of title, images, and personal intentions would make for a very dull, unreadable and most importantly unread blog post indeed. I cannot speak for these women and say why they were tattooed. Their reasons are their reasons and not mine to speculate on.

Furthermore, I think your division between ‘Western’ and ‘tribal’ women is wrong. It is a backward idea to believe that all non-Western women tattoo only for religious or cultural reasons and Western women tattoo for purely aesthetic reasons. I have performed research into Papua New Guinean forms of tattooing and spoken to people in the community and drawn on historical sources. Tattooing for many communities was as much about aesthetic beauty as anything else.

I deny your claim that any of these women are displaying their sexual availability. And anyway, personally I like a woman who suggests their sexual availability. It makes life so much easier.

I will end this here. If I haven’t offended and alienated you entirely by this point, I would like to honestly thank you for your reply. I am finding the debate completely invigorating. In fact, this is the most thought I’ve put into anything for quite some time.

Warm Regards to you, dear sea monster,

      From,
